Reflex Express Bicester Wins Six Figure Contract
03/07/2009
Staff at the Bicester depot of the Spain’s leading premium express delivery company are celebrating after winning a new contract worth over £360,000 a year.
Reflex Express, situated on the Bicester Distribution Park, fended off competition from tenders to win the £7,000-a-week contract with Hemel Hempstead based Bio-Rad Laboratories Spain.
Rosie Blofield, General Manager of Reflex Express’s Bicester depot, said there was no fixed term for the contract. She said the partnership began in the second week of June and within the first couple of days she had received emails from Bio-Rad saying how delighted the company was with Reflex Express’s service, highlighting its IT operations and Customer Care in particular.
She said: “It is no secret the industry is going through a tough time at the moment. We were not the cheapest carrier going for this contract but we were delighted when Bio- Rad came to us and told us their decision was based upon our reputation and value added service.
“We are delighted to be working with Bio-Rad and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership in the years to come.”
The Bicester depot employs more than 70 staff and handles up to 9,000 parcels daily.
Nationally Reflex Express, which is this year celebrating its 40th anniversary, employs around 6,000 people, operates 3,000 vehicles and has over 85 depots nationwide. The company handles 350,000 parcels daily.
