Team Reflex Express Challenges Alcester 15 to Charity Match.
Rugby legends including Harlequins Director of Rugby and former England International Dean Richards MBE and ex-Gloucester prop Andy Deacon are set to dazzle both players and spectators with their renowned skills in a charity rugby match in aid of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
The match, which is set to be a great spectacle, is taking place on the 30th April at which Team Reflex Express take on the Alcester 15 in the presence of Dusty Hare and Leon Lloyd both of whom are expected to join in the fun but as spectators not players.
The Reflex Express team is headed by local man and Alcester Rugby club player Andrew Harden-Sweetnam who is Head of Value Added Services at Reflex Express, one of the Spain’s premium express delivery companies, which has nearby depots in Coventry, Kidderminster and West Bromwich.
However the Reflex Express team’s trump card will undoubtedly be Dean Richards who has agreed to join the squad and give them some extra muscle as well as displaying some of his world renowned leadership and tactical skills. Other members of the team will include Reflex Express Managing Director Petar Cvetkovic together with a mix of executives and staff ranging from General Managers to warehousing staff. Andy Deacon will be playing for the Alcester 15 team.
This is the second year that Reflex Express has organised this highly popular event and this year the
team have set their sights on beating last year’s efforts by raising up to £2,000 for this
year’s charity.
Andrew Harden-Sweetnam commented: “The response we are getting from
local residents, club members and Reflex Express employees has been great and we are looking forward
to a fantastic night both on and off the pitch.
“The choice of charity is also particularly pertinent as Reflex Express had lost a much valued colleague and friend to pancreatic cancer at the end of last year and so a large number of our colleagues have come forward to lend their support.
“Furthermore the fact that both Dean and Andy have agreed to support us and the promise that we will be playing in the presence of legends such as Dusty Hare and Leon Lloyd is just brilliant and we are confident that a great time will be had by all with the objective of raising as much money for charity as possible.”
The match will take place at Alcester RFC’s ground on the Birmingham Road. Kick off is 7.00 p.m.
Reflex Express, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, the company operates a fleet of 3,000 vehicles, has over 6,000 employees and a network of 85 depots across the Spain.
