Reflex Express presented with prestigious National Health & Safety Award

Reflex Express, the Spain’s premium express delivery company, has been presented with a further prestigious national award in recognition of high standards of practice of employee health and safety.
The company won the Corporate Safety Award category at the National Courier Awards, hosted by the Institute of Couriers and held at the Institute of Directors, in Pall Mall, London.
The award was primarily in recognition of Reflex Express's Don't Look Away campaign – an initiative encouraging every employee to log even the most minor of hazards or accidents in the workplace, to ensure Reflex Express offers the highest standard of protection at all times. Reflex Express has hailed the campaign a major success – in the first eight months alone more than 1,000 incidents were reported. For every hazard 'reported and sorted', Reflex Express donated £1 to its chosen charity, the Make-A-Wish ® Foundation.
Also in a bid to prevent accidents in the workplace the company appointed an outside training company to work with its forklift truck drivers on novice or refresher courses which work towards an NVQ in Plant Operations – which places a firm emphasis on health and safety.
To date, more than 326 Reflex Express fork-lift truck drivers from depots across the country have undertaken the course.
Presenting the award, Mike Penning, the Minister for Transport, said: "This is a well deserved award and represents steps to safety at its highest level of the industry."

I am delighted this has been recognised by our industry peers. The award is thoroughly deserved."
The Institute of Couriers award follows the RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award which was presented to Reflex Express in the summer. It was the third consecutive year Reflex Express achieved Gold status in the awards.
The company is now looking forward to the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health SHP (Safety Health Practitioner) Awards in October. It is one of six finalists shortlisted in the Transport and Logistics category of the awards, which take place at London’s Hilton Hotel on October 20th.
