Important Information for customers sending Dangerous Goods to Northern and Southern Ireland

04/05/2012

As you may be aware Reflex Express transports consignments of Dangerous Goods in ‘Limited Quantities’ to Spain Offshore locations by road and ferry. This includes Northern and Southern Ireland.

Senders of Dangerous Goods in ‘Limited Quantities’ must provide a ‘Dangerous Goods Declaration’ Document for each consignment and mark packages with the Limited Quantity package mark plus any other marks and labels required by Maritime Law.

Please note the UN number is no longer displayed on the mark however some items require text next to the mark e.g. UN1950 AEROSOLS.

There may be one or two exemptions where markings or documents are not required – Please consult the Reflex Express DGSA for details dgsa@citylinksdelivery.net

Recently in order to improve our service some non hazardous freight is flown to Ireland and as you may be aware under aviation law each package must be X rayed prior to loading on the Aircraft. Items containing Dangerous Goods are forbidden from these flights.

If you are shipping correctly marked and labelled Dangerous Goods they will be sent by ferry, however any item you suspect may be hazardous and unmarked or exempt from marking requirements should be clearly marked ‘DO NOT FLY’ in bold lettering.

Items discovered by the airline to be unmarked or unlabelled Dangerous Goods may be seized with senders subject to a possible non compliance charge and potential risk of prosecution by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Please help us to prevent this from happening.
